9TH MARCH 2025

EDP LISBON HALF MARATHON

We are truly delighted that a great friend of ours, Mary O’Donnell,  has offered to run the Lisbon Half Marathon on behalf of The Jansen Foundation and 0n March 9th she will be heading off to tackle this tricky course. As we are not capable of running, the very least we can do is to help raise as much money as possible so we will be DOUBLING any donations that are given to Mary and so make an even bigger difference.

27,000 runners flock to Portugal’s capital every year for the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon and Vodafone 10k, creating a festival of sport and making this Portugal’s biggest running event.

The course follows the shores of the River Tagus, with an unforgettable start crossing the impressive 25 de Abril bridge and a finish overlooked by the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos monument. The race attracts athletes from all walks of life and at a range of ability levels, from elites to first time runners.

The EDP Lisbon Half Marathon has become one of the leading destinations for elite runners and amateurs alike. Famed for its flat and fast course, the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon held the men’s world record for the distance from 2010-2018, with thousands of runners earning their personal best there.

But this isn’t a course solely reserved for speed. It also offers stunning views of Portugal’s capital, setting off along the 25 de Abril Bridge before winding through the city and finishing at the famous Mosteiro dos Jerónimos monument.

ALL DONATIONS DOUBLED

Don’t forget that ALL donations will be doubled by the foundation so this is a a fantastic opportunity to really help to make a difference in the projects we have in the UK and India.
We thank you in advance for your generosity.

WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO ?

We have a number of projects we support both in the UK and in India and we guarantee that any donations you give will be spent directly on these projects and will never be used to cover any administration costs.

From community kitchens cooking healthy meals from surplus food, pantries supplying affordable food to toilet installations and a menstruation program for school children in India the scope is varied but all aspects are equally essential to the people they serve.
