WELCOME TO
THE JANSEN FOUNDATION
Having sold my business and taken ‘retirement’ in XXXX I was determined to give something back to those in need in the UK and India. At the time we set up the foundation the amount of people in the UK reliant on food support to feed their families was, and still is, truly shocking and seemed like an area where we would be able to assist in alleviating some of this hardship.
Having Indian heritage I was very keen to offer some assistance there also and our School Improvement Program in Rajasthan and menstrual awareness education in schools is really making a difference.
We are always on the lookout for new areas to help in and, of course, welcome donors to join us as we continue to do what we can.
Kindest Regards

WHERE WE WORK
Our main interests and company principles are focussed on the areas highlighted below.
FOOD POVERTY &
INSECURITY
UK

It is well publicised that the numbers of people seeking assistance from food banks and hubs, community pantries, hot meal services and others is truly shocking and it doesn’t appear to be dropping either. We are doing what we can to help with supplies, cooking and food distribution to assist the many fantastic organisations doing such fantastic work to tackle this problem.
GLEANING FROM
UK FARMS
UK

We are passionate about the ancient act of Gleaning and with so much food going to waste at the farm gate, for many reasons, we are keen to assist in a coordinated effort to save as much of this food and get it into the mouths of those who need it most. There is a definite positive momentum swing right now led by some fantastic gleaning operations and it feels like the right time for positive change.
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM
INDIA

Having completed our initial project to install toilets and incinerators in one school in Rajasthan we have now expanded and we are thrilled to start the second project doing four more schools in the area in great need. Without seeing for ourselves we could never have imagined how the facilities in these schools could be so desperate and we are excited to grow this School Improvement Program.
RASM MENSTRUATION
EDUCATION
INDIA

We have joined forces with One Stage, a fully licenced NGO to help deliver a menstruation program to young girls in schools. The negative affects of this taboo subject include exclusion from the house, increased absenteeism from schools and a negative impact on education. The RASM (Right to Accessible Menstruation) program addresses these issues and the positive impact is plain to see.
SOME STARTLING STATISTICS
The numbers below really speak for themselves in highlighting the issues surrounding food poverty and food waste.

2.9 million

FOOD
INSECURITY

children in the UK are at risk of going hungry each morning

OTHER GREAT ORGANISATIONS
There are so many fantastic organisations doing what they can to reduce food waste, supply food to those in need and to increase the quality or urban and rural sanitation. Listed below are a few of the major players We know we are just a small piece of the jigsaw and look forward to helping to contribute to these worthy causes.
