‘EMPOWER HOUR’ SPONSORSHIP WITH AKSHAYA PATRA

We are really pleased to be supporting Akshaya Patra UK‘s Empower Hour Program. This award winning program provides nutritious meals and targeted tuition to the UK’s most disadvantaged children. It prioritises schools with high levels of free school meal eligibility where children are often left behind in their education progress.

The school day is extended by 60 minutes and offers a hot nutritious meal, itself a boost for efficient learning, and additional tuition delivered, where possible, by the children’s trusted teachers.

“Nevia, Year 7, was weak in Mathematics before she signed up for Empower Hour sessions. However, over the last six months, she’s turned out to be the student with the most independent learning points, not just in the group, but in all of Year 7, and that is thanks to the extra one-to-one support she receives during Empower Hour.”

The school we are supporting for the academic year ahead is the King Solomon Academy, in Marylebone and we very much look forward to visiting them soon to see the great work being done and the positive impact it is having on the children’s education.
